Privacy & Waitlist Terms
Last updated 9 September 2026
Weave Comics is an independent project based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. This page explains exactly what happens to the information you give us when you join the Alpha waitlist. It's written to be read, not to be skipped.
Your work stays yours
This is a waitlist, not a publishing deal. Joining it gives Weave Comics no rights of any kind to your comics, characters, art, writing, or anything else you make. We aren't asking you to upload anything and we aren't asking you to agree to anything about your work. Nothing on this page transfers, licenses, or assigns a single thing.
When the platform launches it will have its own terms covering what happens when you publish on it. The position we're building on: you own your work. A platform needs permission to host and display what you upload — that is what hosting is — and nothing beyond that. No exclusivity, no ownership stake, no rights that outlive you deleting your account. Those terms will be published in full, and you'll read them before you agree to anything.
What we collect
The signup form asks for three things:
- Your name — so we can address you properly
- Your email address — so we can send you your Alpha invitation
- Your location — free text, as you write it, so we know roughly where interest is coming from
Those are the details you submit to the waitlist. When you visit the site or submit the form, our hosting and database providers may also process technical information, such as your IP address, browser information, request times, and security or error logs, to deliver the site, process signups, and prevent abuse. This technical processing is separate from the information you enter in the form.
What we don't do
We do not add analytics, tracking pixels, advertising scripts, or advertising and analytics cookies to this site. The technical processing described above supports site operation and security. The fonts are served from this site, so your browser does not need to contact Google Fonts to display these pages.
We will never sell, rent, trade, or share your information with anyone for marketing purposes.
If you request a removal link, we also process your email address, a secure removal token, request and withdrawal times, and a hashed IP address for request limits. These are used to carry out withdrawals and prevent abuse, not for marketing.
Why we collect it
One reason: to invite you to the Weave Comics Alpha when it's ready, and to tell you what you need to know to take part. We won't use your details for newsletters, promotions, or anything you didn't sign up for.
Where it's stored
Your entry is stored in a private database hosted by Supabase, this website is served by Vercel, and requested removal-link emails are delivered by Resend. These service providers act on our behalf and may store or process data on servers outside Canada, including in the United States. The waitlist table is locked down so that no one but the operator of Weave Comics can read it — there is no public way to view, list, or download the list.
How long we keep it
We keep active signup details until the Alpha invitations have gone out and the waitlist has served its purpose, or until you ask us to delete them — whichever comes first. After withdrawal, we keep a hashed version of your email and the withdrawal time while this invitation list is in use to prevent accidental re-addition. Removal links expire after 90 days. Expired removal-link records and request-rate records older than two days are cleared during subsequent removal-link processing. Joining the waitlist does not enrol you in anything long-term.
Your choices
To leave the invitation list, use our unsubscribe page. Enter your signup email and we will send a removal link. Confirming that link removes your active signup immediately. You can also withdraw directly by emailing us below; you do not need to use the link process if you contact us directly.
You can ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what we hold about you
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete your entry entirely
Email weavecomics@gmail.com and say which. No explanation needed, no hard feelings, and no attempt to talk you out of it. We'll action deletion requests promptly and confirm when it's done.
Every email we send you about the Alpha will also carry a way to opt out.
Waitlist terms — the short version
Joining the waitlist is an expression of interest, nothing more. It isn't a contract, a purchase, or a promise on either side:
- It doesn't guarantee you a place in the Alpha. Places may be limited, staged, or invite-only.
- It costs nothing and creates no payment obligation.
- The Alpha is unreleased software. Features, timing, and the product itself may change substantially or not ship at all.
- You can leave at any time using the email address above.
Fuller terms of service will come with the platform itself. A waitlist doesn't need them, and we'd rather not pad this page with clauses that don't apply to you yet.
Children
The waitlist isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we'll remove the entry.
Changes to this page
If anything here changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information you've already given us, we'll email you before it takes effect.
